NON ALCOHOLIC ALTERNATIVES

There are many websites dedicated to mocktail recipes. We have pulled out a few below to get you started:

PINA-NOLADA

  • 1 small carton coconut water
  • 1 can light coconut milk
  • 1 large pineapple diced
  • 1 banana

Method:

Add everything to a blender, making sure that the ice is at the bottom for easier blending.

Blend until smooth, approximately one minute, then pour into serving cups immediately.

BLUEBERRY BLAST

  • 150g blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 800ml semi skimmed milk

Method:

Make a delicious smoothie with fresh or frozen blueberries blended with bananas and semi-skimmed milk. Tip the blueberries into a blender and slice in the bananas. Add the milk.

Whizz together for a few seconds until smooth and blended, then pour into 4 glasses.

MANGO MULE

  • 4-5 slices of cucumber
  • 1 ounce honey syrup*
  • 1½ ounce mango puree
  • 1½ ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1½ ounce ginger beer
  • Ice

Method:

Muddle cucumber and honey syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.

Add the mango puree and lime juice and shake, covered, with ice vigorously for 10 seconds.
Strain into a tall glass of fresh ice. Top with ginger beer and stir to incorporate.

TORNADO TWIST

  • Cranberry Juice
  • Rasberry juice
  • Lemonade or soda water
  • 2 slice’s of lime
  • Ice

Method:

Mix together the cranberry-raspberry juice with lemonade or soda water in a pitcher.

Pour in a glass filled with ice, squeeze in one of the lime wedges and garnish with the other.

STRAWBERRY FIELDS

  • 3 ounces distilled water
  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces simple syrup
  • 4 fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Strawberry slice for garnish

Method:

Muddle the strawberries and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add water, lemon juice and ice and shake well. Fine strain into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a strawberry slice.

SINLESS SANGRIA

  • Sparkling white grape juice
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • Firm ripe nectarine (sliced)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • Crushed ice

Method:

Add everything to a blender, making sure that the ice is at the bottom for easier blending.

Blend until smooth, approximately one minute, then pour into serving cups immediately.

SPICY APPLE PUNCH

  • 2 parts apple juice
  • 1 part apple and cinnamon tea
  • 1/2 an apple sliced
  • 1/2 part red grape juice
  • Splash elderflower cordial
  • 1 part pomegranate juice
  • Orange zest and juice of half an orange
  • 5 cloves, 2 cardamon pods, 1 aniseed in a spice bag.

Method:

Put all ingredients in a pan and warm slowly, letting all the spices infuse.

Pour into your Dry January mug and garnish with an apple slice.

WATERMELON FIZZ

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup watermelon puree
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Watermelon wedge, orange slice and a few grapes.
  • Crushed ice

Method:

Blend coconut water, watermelon, and stevia together in a blender until smooth.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice; add watermelon mixture.

Cover shaker and shake until chilled.

Garnish with an orange slice, watermelon wedge, and the grapes.

    Board games and quiz nights are fun and provide a good structure to your evening.

    BABY CRAFTS

    Online you can find ideas of things you can make before your baby arrives. If your partner, family and friends enjoy crafts, ask them to get involved on a regular basis as their gift to you and the baby.

  • Push bike

    GET ACTIVE

    Being physically active is still important during pregnancy. A regular gym, jogging or swim buddy can help fill a weekly spot in your calendar. Your GP can advise you on levels of physical activity and activities that are safe during your pregnancy.
